Branding Your Business With Corporate Gifts

Posted in at 8:16 pm by Administrator

To Enlighten and Inform:

Giving away business gifts can be compared to talking with your customers and future customers. It is very similar to an ordinary conversation and provides the same advantages. When gifting a product you are informing the client or customer about the company, the services and products it offers and its purpose. If your chosen product has a marketing message printed on it, then you can also promote the products and services that you offer.

Gifts are also a great source of informing your target audience about the launch of a new product, or even to notify them about your existing services and products. You do not have to directly speak to them. All you have to do is hand the business gift to them and they will immediately be interested and enthused about your company.

Apart from marketing your company, it will also be a constant reminder of your company every time they use it. When they appear to be happy and content with it, they will most likely spread the word around. Business gifts have the ability to get this done.

Everyone is sure to agree that there is nothing better than free marketing. If you are one of the select few who have not used business gifts as part of your promotional campaign this is the time to begin!

Helping Our Community Businesses…

Customizing is my passion when it comes to gifting.  Helping area businesses create excitement with their clients is my goal.  Taverns and Lounges have a great audience for offering a fun gift to win.  You’ve heard of shake of the day and other bar games where you can win something.  I have created a gift program just for The Bar Scene.  Patrons have a fantastic time competeing to win an awesome gift design of the week.  These designs are created with the crowd and clientele in mind.  I am currently doing a Grilling Design with a small weber grill as the container.  We named it a Tailgater Party.  Such fun!  I am excited to start creating the Green Bay Packer themes for Fall!

Help Your Employees Succeed and Help Your Business Succeed!

Posted in at 6:44 pm by Administrator

Maybe you’ve found the perfect person to hire! She has experience in a similar business and demonstrates all the skills that are required for the job. But how can you be sure that she’ll succeed in your business?

Even a person with experience needs to know your expectations and learn your procedures. When you hire someone new, take some time to teach them what they need to know to be successful. Be clear about your vision and mission for your business as well as the values you hold about handling customers and working cooperatively with other employees. Make sure that you’re very clear about your “rules”: what time they are expected to get to work, how long breaks and lunch should be, whether they can accept personal phone calls, etc.  Then, be concise about how you want things done. If you have certain expectations for cleaning the work room, make sure they know it. If you want specific information from all new customers, give them a list of questions to cover when they’re helping a customer.

Once a new employee knows what you expect, give her lots of feedback during her first weeks at work. Correct mistakes, but also point out when things have been done exactly as you want. Ask her questions: take advantage of her experience. And most importantly, model the behaviors you want. If you expect your customers to be treated with dignity and respect, then treat your employees in the same way.

Helping your employees be “the best they can be” will work well for them, for your customers and for your business!

Empower your employees to represent your business as if you were there doing it yourself.  They can be your greatest asset!  Jenn

Why Should You Give Gift Baskets?

Posted in Uncategorized at 11:42 pm by Administrator

Perhaps you may have heard about gift baskets but have neither received one nor sent one. What are they good for and just why would anyone want to send one or get one?  What goes into the making of a gift basket?

Gift baskets are given for all kinds of occasions. They are sent on holidays, birthdays, or as an apology (oops). A gift basket may be a way of saying thank you to certain people in your life such as a great assistant or to a supportive mentor.

Gift baskets are sent to mark special occasions such as the birth of a new baby or just because you want to send one. In the traditional sense, a gift basket is a basket that has been filled with small presents for the receiver.

Whoever recieves it gets multiple gifts inside one large gift which increases the delight. These can range from snacks and food products to mementos to other useful items such as teacups. The container, your budget and your imagination are the only limits to what can be included in gift baskets.

The containers have no limits including traditional wicker basket, trays and  boxes. You may find baskets that are made from grapevines or rope. The container could be a grill, a cooler,  a baby stroller, a mug, or a stainless colander with goodies to celebrate a new home.

Look around and imagine just what can become your container. Let your mind run free.   As long as it can contain items, you can use it as a container or the base of the gift basket.  And the items included within the gift baskets are unlimited as well and only linited by your imagination, budget and to some extent that the item will fit within the container. Usually these items will include foods such as jams, sauces, cheeses, snacks, teas, crackers, sports items, special books, spa and pamper items. Candy, cookies and coffee, cocoa, drink mixes and nuts.  Beyond food, you may find a  soaps, candles, baby items, floral or books. What could be better than to receive a romantic basket with scented candles, bath salts, and a book of poems with a beautiful romantic CD and chocolate roses? Lastly, most gift baskets will include some type of embellishment or enhancement that will make it seem all the more special such as floral sprays, handtied bows, imprinted ribbon and artfully made cello plumes and fans.  These brighten your gift and make it more attractive to the recepient of the gift.

The talent of the designer will be seen in the overall look of the finished product and the creativity of it’s contents.  We create custom designs for any reason and any season.  Does she like crafts, turtles or does he like ice fishing, running, gaming?

What ever the interest we make sure to provide gifts in our baskets to enhance that interest and show the recipient that you really put some thought in the whole gift process.  That’s right we are here to make YOU look great!  On the whole, gift baskets are a joy to give and to receive.   Jenn Bittner 12/2009

Top 10 Gifts for people living in a Nursing Home or Assisted Living Facility

Posted in Uncategorized at 2:24 am by Administrator

Thoughtful Gifts that Show You Care

If you know someone who lives in a nursing home, you probably realize how difficult it is to come up with gift ideas. People who live in a nursing home have limited space, and their needs are very different from those who live in their own home.
Even though someone is living in a nursing

home, there are still many valuable gifts you can give that will be used and very much appreciated.

Don’t avoid giving gifts to people in nursing homes because you don’t know what they need or want. Gifts are small tokens that show care and concern, and everyone wants to be remembered, especially those living in a nursing home. If you can’t think of gift ideas for those living in a nursing home, the following ideas will help make your decision easier. These gift ideas for nursing home residents are useful, practical, and most of all, these gift ideas are thoughtful. Give someone in a nursing home the pleasure of being remembered, and give them a gift to show you care.

Keeping in Touch With the Present

Those who live in nursing homes are sometimes unable to shop for note cards, stationery, greeting cards, postage stamps, and writing supplies. If someone you know resides in a nursing home and is capable of filling out cards and letters, consider giving a gift of writing supplies, postage stamps, and all-occasion greeting cards. Also, include an address book with the names and addresses of friends and loved ones. Enabling a nursing home resident to stay in touch with friends and family is a wonderful gift, and giving a gift that allows the recipient to stay in touch with the outside world is priceless.

Bring Back the Past

Everyone enjoys remembering happy times, and for the elderly, the past is sometimes clearer than the present. Not all nursing home residents are elderly, and with this in mind, anyone would love to receive a photo album or scrapbook of valuable memories. Pictures are worth a thousand words, and giving someone a book full of familiar faces, smiles, and places is a gift that can be used and appreciated again and again.

1.     Electronic handheld game: $10 to $50
If your loved one has a hankering for Scrabble or loves card games, try getting them hooked on a portable handheld game. They are affordable, can offer hours of enjoyment, and can allow seniors to play their favorite game against a computer when other game-playing folks aren’t around.Bottom of Form

2.     Sugar-free delicacies: $2.95 and up
Many seniors have dietary restrictions that keep them from enjoying sweets around the holidays. Treat your parent or grandparent to a gift assortment of sugar-free treats.
3.     Family memory book: $20 and up
If your parent or grandparent has moved into a residence, chances are that they’ve had to consolidate or eliminate their mementos from over the years. Framed family photos that once decorated the house have likely been shoved into boxes and bags, never to be seen or appreciated.
4.     Ancestry poem or story: free
Using your creative juices, write a poem about your family or type up a letter or story. The holidays are a perfect time to express heartfelt sentiment that your loved ones will enjoy for years to come.

5. Professional massage: $50 and up for 1-hour session
It’s a proven fact that when people age, they do not receive as much physical touch or affection as they’ve grown accustomed to receiving. Give your senior parent or grandparent the gift of touch in the form of a professional massage to ease the aches and pains of every day.

6. Electric blanket or warming mitts:
around $20
Help them beat the winter chill with the cozy comfort of an electric blanket or warming hand mitts that will also help alleviate the pains of arthritis.

7. Specialty bed pillow: $35 and up
This gift is all about comfort. Give your loved one a plush night of sleep with a memory foam, down, or buckwheat pillow. Make sure to get their preference on this one, though, because everyone’s head/neck is different.
8. Herbal sleepy-time aroma: $10 and up
Pair this with the comfy new pillow if you wish. A spritz or dab of herbal oils from Escents can make those long nights go by much quicker for mom, dad, grandma or grandpa.
9. Family-autographed sweatshirt: $15 and up
This one is fun for grandma or grandpa. Get all of the kids/grandkids to sign their names on a warm winter sweatshirt using fabric paint. Gift box this and your loved one will want to show it off to everyone in their residence—guaranteed.

10. Photo roses:
$25 and up
This is a truly unique idea. Just Paper Roses is a company that specializes in photo gifts that any grandparent would treasure: a bouquet of roses that won’t wilt. But will stay preserved with family potos on each bud.

Taking Life One Step At A Time

Posted in Uncategorized at 9:51 pm by Administrator

Often times we can be so inspired by a big picture dream that we take off running with it. I have often done this and feel energized and excited with my passion and almost euphoric at the beginning. Just like taking a run, after the initial blast off, my legs start to tire, my breathing is a little more laborious, and I start asking myself “I have to run how much farther?!?!” For me that would be not far…  Other times we may encounter challenges in which we find ourselves asking, “I have to do WHAT to overcome this?!”
The key in both scenarios, taking one step at a time.
You and I don’t have to have it all right now, we don’t have to have all the answers right now, we don’t have to be everything right now, we don’t have to make every decision right now. We can take one… step…at…a…time.
For me this has been a long learning process that right now… just does not have to be.  Take it slow and one step at a time to reach that goal.  It has kept my sanity and I am much more at peace with life taking things slower.
Being a natural entrepreneur at heart I have had the right now bug for a long time.  Only in recent years did I finally slow down and come into myself and realize that one step at a time is the most wonderful way to live your life!

Tips for buying gift baskets for MEN……

Posted in Uncategorized at 1:14 am by Administrator

For so many women it seems that buying gifts for men is often difficult. I mean, you can only give a tie, shirt or underwear so many times before you need to consider doing something a little different. With that in mind, have you thought about giving a gift basket for men? Here’s a closer look at some great ideas to help you give something a little different this year.

Women are often giving a gift basket that can contain items such as candles, soaps, expensive foods or even wine. So, take this idea and consider the things a man may want instead.

No, you can’t fit a new set of golf clubs in a gift basket or a new fishing rod, (we can design them into a gift here at Expressions), but you can include some of the items that go along with these. For example, if your man is a golfer you could put in a few sleeves of golf balls, golf tees, personalized golf towel, passes for a round of golf at a course he has always wanted to play, etc. Or for the fisherman it could be fishing lures, hooks, line, a new reel, gift certificate to a fishing store, fishing dvd, snacks, etc.

Of course you can always simply give a basket filled with wine, cheese or food items, but that is just not very exciting for a guy. If you give a gift basket that is filled with items that a guy really enjoys then you will hit a homerun so to speak.

Use your imagination and have fun! If you need some help let me know I am full of ideas and design suggestions. We create custom designs that WOW the recipient!

So this year ladies, leave the ties and underwear on the shelf and do something completely different. Let us help you put together a gift basket for men and watch at how much your man loves what you have done!

Stop by our showroom here in Wausau and check out the unique gifts we have for men! We also offer personal shopping. Saving you time and money!
